You give me consent when you provide me with personal information to complete a transaction, perform a service or opt-in to receive bi-weekly newsletters. I imply that you consent to me collecting your personal information and using it for those specific reasons only. If I ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like for a testimonial for marketing purposes, I will ask you directly for your expressed consent. If after opting-in to my newsletter and you would like to unsubscribe, you may use the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the email. You may also contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have changed your mind and would like to withdraw your consent to have your personal testimonial removed, or to remove or modify any identifying information displayed on my site (such as first name, last name, initials, city, state or country of residence), you may contact me, at any time, directly at email@example.com.
SQUARESPACE & STRIPE
My online store is hosted on Squarespace Inc. They provide me with the online e-commerce platform that allows me to sell services to you. Your data is stored through Squarespace's data storage, databases and the general Squarespace application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall. When purchasing services or memberships through my online store, Stripe stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted. All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by my store and its service providers. For more insight, you may also want to read Squarespace's & Stripe's Terms of Service or Privacy Statement.
I may receive reports based on the use of these technologies by these companies on an individual and aggregated basis. You may be able to instruct your browser, by changing its option, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the online services you visit. You may also remove persistent cookies by following your web browser’s help file directions. If you do not accept cookies, however, this could affect certain portions, features or the functionality of my site. Squarespace and my other service providers may also use “pixel tags,” “web beacons,” “clear GIFs,” or similar means in connection with my site and HTML-formatted e-mail messages to, among other things, track the actions of users, to determine the success of marketing campaigns and to compile aggregate statistics about site usage and response rates. This information is collected anonymously, in a manner that does not personally identify you, your email, or personal passwords.
Specifically, the following information is collected:
How many visitors my site gets on an hourly, daily, monthly, and annual basis and how long my visitors spend on my site. This data helps me learn about the popularity of my site in general.
What pages on my website are most visited and in what order on an hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis and how long my visitors spend on my site. This data helps me learn what specific content is the most and least popular with my visitors.
From what specific sites, search engines, and keywords brought my visitors to my site. This data helps me learn where I might consider advertising, what current marketing strategies are/or are not working, and what keywords are best to use in the future.
From what specific countries my visitors come from. This data helps me understand which countries are most interested in my work and services.
From what pages my visitors most often left my site. This data helps me learn what pages might need to be reworked.
What browser or device my visitors used (such as Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari; or whether a desktop computer or mobile device).
My online ordering is secure. I do not store any credit card information whatsoever. All orders for readings or memberships are safely and securely processed by Squarespace Inc. and Stripe. Your name, address, phone, credit card data, birth data, order information and any other information you provide me are all encrypted when they travel over the Internet. Only myself has access to your orders (with the exception of your credit card information, which I do not store and cannot see). For maximum security, I recommend placing online orders through my secure online store rather than by email. If you would prefer an alternative method for payment (such as sending a check through snail mail), please contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
